A great deal of out-of-class assigned reading coincides with this text. It's a fabulous study of both gothic and sensational literature, and we will use it to study tropes commonly found in both. We will also use the text to practice Q2s (excerpts for lit analysis using lit terms) and Q3s (a study of "the message in the work as a whole)
